Five years in software quality assurance and testing, with a background that started in frontend web development. That
foundation matters: I understand how API calls are structured, how UI state behaves under edge conditions, and how
failures originate at the boundary between components rather than in the feature being tested. It shapes how I design
tests, diagnose defects, and work with development teams.
The core of my experience is nearly three years as a contracted Quality Engineer at Vopak N.V. in Rotterdam, embedded
within their digital program team. The platforms I tested ran on tablets in the hands of terminal operators coordinating
live barge movements across Rotterdam's waterway network. A failed integration had immediate operational
consequences. That context is where my understanding of what quality engineering actually means was formed.
