Client is migrating their core-banking application SAS from an Unisys MCP mainframe to the IBM pSeries/AIX platform. This migration is a so-called 'clever' 1-on-1 re-hosting. The application is mainly written in Unisys Cobol although relevant part are also written in Unisys Algol, which might be considered as the MCP platform's Assembler. The SAS application data is stored in a DMSII database, which is a variant on a Codasyl type of database.
The application is accessed by a front-end called WebSAS and a number of external interfaces.
Those interfaces are currently written in Algol. SAS Batch programs are executed using the
Unisys Work Flow Language (WFL). WFL includes variables, expressions and flow-of-control
For online testing we need someone to help executing the online transactions. But also to analyse and prepare the testing. This is done on the client’s system via login. It has to be someone with scripting knowledge.
